As Salaam un-Alaykum – Peace be upon you,
Muslims for Peace would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude for your continued support throughout these years. With your encouragement, generous donations, and prayers, we are able to spread the messages of peace and harmony across the globe.
In honor of the 12th Annual Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) Day event, we find it beneficial to reflect on our past efforts and determine how we can improve our future endeavors. Muslims for Peace, Inc. was created in 2001 for the purpose of uniting individuals from different religious, non-religious, and ethnic backgrounds together to further social justice goals. We firmly believe that educating each other about our similarities and differences is the only way to interconnect with people, foster a spirit of respect towards each other, build bridges of understanding, and facilitate the peacemaking process all over the world. In connection therewith, we undertake and hence disseminate that the message of Islam, is of peace, justice, non-violence, and a spirit of inclusiveness that leads to an appreciation of Islam amongst all the people of the world, Muslim and non-Muslim. Focusing on contemporary issues along with an academic focus towards a more balanced and broader approach to education, Muslims for Peace, Inc. believes that education is the means to foster dialogue and discussion across communities.
Over the course of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, Muslims for Peace, Inc. has been involved in various initiatives locally, nationally and globally, including faith-based programs, activism and advocacy, and service and charity events. With the current political climate, MFP immersed itself in social activism, organizing rallies for marginalized and underrepresented populations while also initiating campaigns to representatives in Congress and participating in Amicus briefs before various tribunals on immigration reform issues. Through emails, and letters, MFP vocalized prevalent concerns in the American-Muslim communities. With a faith-based focus, MFP handed out roses on the streets of New York City to spread awareness about Islam and its values in September of 2017. During the holiday season, the MFP team collaborated with The Children’s Home Society of Trenton, NJ to organize a Holiday party, with games and food, for at-risk children in the area for their families to enjoy.
Thankfully, we have been blessed with numerous opportunities to give back to the community. We welcome our guests to the 12th Annual Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) Day, Women in Islam, A Dialogue. With an all-female panel, we aim to highlight the role of women of faith, both during the time of the Prophet (pbuh) and in the modern-day. Now more than ever, the world is awakened to the realization that women are, and have always been, front-runners in the movement of for justice. We thank our volunteers, our supporters, our guests and our panel for all of their support and efforts in making this day a reality and the success that we have come to expect.
We welcome this upcoming year with joy and see immense success in our future alongside our supportive community. The success of our organization is reliant and dependent on our community. Your unwavering support is what allows Muslims for Peace, Inc. to have a substantial impact. As we start our journey this year, we ask that you come alongside us to make the difference that humanity needs. Let us utilize the lessons of the Prophet (pbuh) and his family to the fullest as a model of success, humility, and respect in all that we do.
Our organization relies entirely on voluntary donations and support that are both vital in helping us spread the message of the Our Prophet (pbuh) and his family in our society today. We would like to ask you to consider supporting our events by donating; your benevolent gift would facilitate us in organizing and providing the means to the end.
