Monroe Township to Hold First-Ever Ramadan Lighting Ceremony
Monroe Township, NJ – The Muslim community of Monroe Township will celebrate the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan with a historic Ramadan Lighting Ceremony, marking the township’s first-ever public recognition of this sacred time.
The Monroe Township Muslim Leadership Team, the Monroe Islamic Center, and the non-profit organization Muslims4Peace are coordinating this event as a powerful symbol of unity, peace, collaboration, and community.
Mayor Dalina and members from the Monroe Township Council will be in attendance.
The ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5:25 PM to 6:30 PM at the intersection of Perrineville Road and Prospect Plains Road, across from the Stop & Shop in Monroe Township, NJ 08831.
Community members, local officials, and faith leaders will come together as a crescent and star display is illuminated, signifying the beginning of Ramadan, a month dedicated to spiritual growth through prayer, fasting, charity, and reflection.
This event is a testament to Monroe Township’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity. We are proud to share this moment with the broader community and appreciate the township’s support in recognizing and celebrating this important occasion.
