Local NJ Muslims to Host Christmas Party for At-Risk Children in Trenton

Trenton, NJ—December 11, 2015—Tomorrow, Muslims for Peace, Inc, and Husayn Center Muslim non-profit organizations based in central New Jersey will be co-sponsoring a Christmas Party for children staying at the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey (CHSNJ) in Trenton, a nonprofit organization that helps at-risk infants, youth, and families achieve their potential. They protect abused or neglected infants and children, strengthen families, and strive for stable, permanent, and loving homes.

Inspired by the Islamic tradition of unconditional love and generosity towards the less fortunate, Muslim communities have long been welcoming vulnerable children and families of all faiths. The Muslim community in Central Jersey recognizes the need to give back to those who need it most. Director of Charity Events for Muslims for Peace, Zain Ali said, “We are organizing this event because it is a part of our Islamic faith to give back to our community. As it says in the Qur’an [Chapter 2, verse 215], ‘They ask you as to what they should spend. Say: Whatever wealth you spend, it is for the parents and the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, and whatever good you do, God surely knows it.” we will be joining efforts to continue this tradition by organizing a Christmas Party for ~55 children currently staying at CHSNJ, in the spirit of the holiday season.

Advocacy Director for the Husayn Center, Mohammad Ali Naquvi said, “With the birth of Jesus and Muhammad, peace be upon them, falling so close together this holiday season, we felt it was important to re-affirm to our local community and the world that we are one big family. We hope people join us at the Children’s Home Society in Trenton in this spirit, as we celebrate the coming holidays with compassion and gratitude.”

Activities for the children will include face painting, indoor bowling, gift giving and other games and activities. This will be followed by a full lunch.

This event is closed to the media until 2pm. Organizers will take questions from members of the press at that time.

Support Our Work

Muslims4peace believes achieving significant impact in the community occurs when every member of the organization defines their unique role in catalyzing positive change.

Our growth and success is made possible by the support of our network. A network that consists of individuals all driven by the very same factor – the ability to bring about a change in the world around them. Our events, whether they may be faith-based or community service opportunities or even political activism, are methods in which we can portray our ideas to the world and bring about a sense of awareness and understanding. For this, we need your never-ending support.

A monetary donation of any amount will help drive us forward to continue setting and achieving goals of unimaginable heights. We want you to join the MFP family for without your support, we would not have accomplished all that we have in the past.
