Umar A. Sheikh

Member

Umar A. Sheikh is an attorney with over fifteen years of experience, having received his JD from Brooklyn Law School in 2000. Umar practices with the mid-Atlantic regional law firm of Offit Kurman, P.A. Umar’s practice concentrates on all aspects of real estate law – purchases, sales, financing, development, leasing, evictions, foreclosures, management – and those areas of law that are related to real estate – corporate, tax, asset protection, estate planning, and litigation. Umar regularly represents parties in the purchase, sale and financing of multifamily, mixed-use, commercial and retail properties. He also represents borrowers in CMBS transactions, hard money lenders, and “fix and flip” investors. In addition, Umar provides outside general counsel services to small and mid-size companies, as well as foreign investors and entities doing business, real estate or otherwise, in the United States. Umar has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Asian American Bar Association of New York.

Raza Mir

Prof Raza Mir is a Professor of Management at the Cotsakos College of Business, William Paterson University. He received his PhD in Management from the University of Massachusetts. He has written several scholarly papers, and is the author/editor of four books, most recently the Routledge Companion to Philosophy in Organization Studies

Sarah Mokh

Member

Sarah received her BA in Near Eastern Studies with a focus on Islamic Intellectual history from Harvard in 2018. Her undergraduate research projects focused on Shi’i hadith and hadith commentary and sectarian history. She is now pursuing an MA in Near Eastern Studies also with a focus on sectarian history and literature. Sarah works as a graduate assistant at the Islamic Center at NYU and has given talks there and at a variety of other university and Islamic settings. She plans to continue pursuing her graduate studies.

Zain Ali

Zain Ali , A leader in strategy and innovation that has launched new global products, developed business alliances, and helped drive top-line growth for publicly traded and startup companies. Over the years he has developed a passion for B2B innovation related to financing, networks and the data that powers them. His other passion is giving back to those in need and has been lucky to have volunteered at an earthquake refugee site in the Himalayan mountains, helped raise funds to build two schools in Thailand, sits on the Board of Muslims for Peace which promotes peaceful community building in NJ by organizing food drives, programs for at risk children and partnering and volunteering with the Children’s Home Society of New Jersey which supports 59,000 at risk children in his local state. Currently Zain is the Director of Global Product Strategy and Innovation for Dun & Bradstreet, the largest B2B Trade data company in the world, where he is unleashing the power of data and networks to maximize the potential of B2B companies and financial institutions.

Ali Rizvi

Ali Rizvi is a chartered accountant and has been associated with the financial services industry for the last 20 plus years. He is currently an operational risk manager with Wells Fargo and supports a number of diveristy, equity and inclusion initiatives.

He has always been a strong advocate for Muslims portraying the true essence of Islam and negate the incorrect perceptions and portrayals in media and elsewhere. This led him to join the organization to play his part in raising awareness and supporting the community.

Sajida Haji

Sajida Haji is an Occupational Therapist who works with students in the public schools. She has a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Philadelphia University (Thomas Jefferson University). Sajida lives with her husband and 2 children. She is an active member at her local mosque where she runs monthly programs for women and children. She is also an active board member with Muslims 4 Peace and enjoys working with her local communities. Sajida aspires to be a writer someday…!

Jerrmein Abu Shahba

Jerrmein Abu Shahba, originally from Egypt and guided by the grace of Allah (SWT) to the truth path of AhlulBayt (AS), obtained masters in Chemistry and is a Clinical Research Scientist by profession. She contributes as a writer for the Islamic Insights, AIM, Muslims4peace, Stand with Dignity and Voice of Unity magazines. Jerrmein volunteers as an editor for the al-Islam.org website, and translates Islamic literature to propagate the teachings of AhlulBayt (as).

Saba Abbas

Saba Abbas is a young advocate for Muslims4Peace who recruits new volunteers and encourages people to join the volunteering work with their families. Ms. Abbas serves as a Board Member and an Admin Assistant.Ms. Abbas educational background is in Business Administration and she has over a decade’s worth of experience within the Educational sector, State level healthcare system, along with the Staffing and Recruiting industry.

Walid Abushahba

Dr. Walid Abushahba Received PhD in Molecular Biology from Rutgers University in 2010. Completed Post-Doctoral Fellowship in the Cancer Institute of NJ in 2012.Currently a Fulltime Professor at Berkeley College and Adjunct Professor at Montclair State University.Serves as the Event Committee Coordinator in Al-Ghadeer Benevolent Foundation in North Bergen, NJ/Volunteer Quran Instructor at Al-Ghadeer Islamic Saturday School.
